American Humane Society Rescue is on the ground in Los Angeles, coordinating staff, responders and volunteer resources, while preparing supplies to help protect and save animals impacted by the devastating wildfires. With animal lives at risk, our passionate Los Angeles-based team is on the ground providing immediate aid to the community, including feeding animals and delivering much-needed resources to local shelters and barns. American Humane’s 50-foot rescue vehicle, which is housed in the LA area, has been outfitted for upcoming animal transport and wellness clinics for animals affected by the unfolding disaster.
Evacuated horses have needed special care and attention, and American Humane staffer Padma bravely and swiftly jumped into action to help. Showing the dedication that so many of our staff consistently display, Padma has been at evacuation centers that have taken in horses displaced by the fires. Padma has helped to ensure the horses are being cared for by helping to feed and walk them. American Humane Society has created an Emergency Relief Fund for Livestock to support the horses impacted by the disaster, which has already provided much-needed hay and grain.
We have created an Emergency Relief Fund for Animals to take immediate action to support animals in urgent need in Los Angeles. Donations will help provide life-saving resources like food, water and essential supplies.
