American Humane is excited to launch our 107th annual Be Kind to Animals Week®, taking place May 1 – May 7. This celebration of building a more humane world for both people and animals is the oldest commemorative week in U.S. history.
Engaging our children is critical in the quest to build a better world for both people and animals! To that end, American Humane is making available free online downloadable materials – for the first time in both English and Spanish – including lessons and teaching sheets for pre-K to Grade 5 students, “Be Kind to Animals” posters, and a plethora of ideas to celebrate and protect Earth’s creatures. For more information, visit www.AmericanHumane.org/BeKind.
American Humane aims to build a world grounded in humane values that can easily be demonstrated through science, ethics, compassion and love for animals, people and the world we share.
If you support these values, voice your support by taking our Kindness Pledge – committing to protecting and improving the lives of millions of animals across the globe! You can become a part of the compassion movement by pledging to do four simple things:
- Visit certified zoos and aquariums
- Adopt from an animal shelter or American Humane Certified Pet Provider
- Watch movies that support animal welfare on set
- Buy humanely raised products
Be a voice of compassion for the globe and encourage others to join you in taking the pledge to create a better world for all of Earth’s creatures on your social channels, using the hashtag #BeKindToAnimalsWeek!
