It’s the final countdown… for the 2022 Hero Dogs!

Who will be recognized as the winning Hero Dogs of the 2022 American Humane Hero Dog Awards®? The choice is up to you! But time is running out… The second round of voting closes this week, on July 22 at 3 p.m. ET.

More than 400,000 votes from animal lovers across the country decided the top 21 semifinalists from a pool of nearly 400 candidates competing in this year’s Hero Dog Awards. The 21 semifinalists are heroes who exemplify courage through their brave stories. Some of these incredible dogs enhance the lives of people in need, while others are our protectors.

As we face uncertain times, this joyful celebration is a bright spot of hope and love.

“The Hero Dog Awards shines a bright light on man’s best friend and celebrates the strength, hope and beauty that dogs bring to our lives. Like the voting public, we are captivated by the heartwarming stories of so many of these courageous canines and want to do everything in our power to help ensure they get the recognition they deserve.” – Dr. Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane

The second round of voting will establish the seven finalists who will advance to the third and final round of voting. After this round concludes, the top winner in each category will be honored at the star-studded American Humane Hero Dog Awards gala in Palm Beach on November 11, and one will be crowned this year’s American Hero Dog.

The 2022 Hero Dog Awards categories include: Law Enforcement and Detection Dogs; Service Dogs; Therapy Dogs; Military Dogs; Search and Rescue Dogs; Guide/Hearing Dogs; and Shelter Dogs. It’s the final countdown, so let’s give our most special canine friends the honor they truly deserve. Voting is open at www.HeroDogAwards.org!
