Ellen and Walmart Help American Humane’s Rescue Efforts in Louisiana

All of us at American Humane were thrilled when Ellen DeGeneres announced on her television show that she and Walmart were teaming up to donate $500,000 to our Louisiana rescue efforts following the “worst US disaster since Hurricane Sandy.”

On behalf of our organization, and animal lovers everywhere, we’d like to thank Ellen and Walmart for their generosity which will support our animal first responder’ rescue efforts.

American Humane’s rescue operation includes two 50-foot rescue vehicles, each of which can carry enough supplies and equipment to shelter up to 100 animals, a team of trained emergency responders, and a veterinarian.

With this gift from Ellen and Walmart, American Humane can continue to be the first to serve whenever and wherever disaster strikes.
