This week, we are thrilled to kick off our 106th annual Be Kind to Animals Week®, which is the oldest commemorative week in U.S. history and takes place in 2021 from May 2 to May 8.
Building a better world for both people and animals begins with teaching our children the meaning of compassion. We can best do this by example and by providing them with free, compelling humane education materials. To make these tools easy and accessible, our brand new interactive website contains downloadable posters, lesson plans and activity sheets for pre-K to Grade 5 students!
Do you believe in kindness for all animals, and that all animals are entitled to humane treatment? We also challenge you to take our Kindness Pledge – committing to protecting and improving the lives of millions of animals across the globe. You can become a part of the compassion movement by pledging to do four simple things:
- Visit certified zoos and aquariums
- Adopt from an animal shelter or reputable breeder
- Watch movies that support animal welfare on set
- Buy humanely raised products
Together, we can build a better world – one grounded in humane values that can easily be demonstrated through science, ethics, compassion and love for animals, people and the world we share.
Be sure to voice your support and encourage others to take the pledge on your social channels, using the hashtag #BeKindToAnimalsWeek!
