This Thanksgiving season, American Humane Certified™ Butterball turkeys were pardoned during the National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation. Butterball, the only turkey producer that is American Humane Certified, demonstrates a longstanding commitment to humane, responsible animal care.
These pardoned turkeys remind us that Thanksgiving is not only about gratitude, but respect for the animals who help sustain us. The National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation, which began 78 years ago with President Truman, continues to showcase the pride, care and spirit of American agriculture.
The pardoned flock was raised on a North Carolina farm under Butterball’s direction, and American Humane Society traveled with the flock from North Carolina to Washington, D.C., to help ensure they had a safe journey.
