The Motivational Interviewing curriculum focuses on the concepts of addiction as a brain-chemistry disease and the six stages of change, and teaches participants how to recognize and demonstrate reflective and strategic responses to addiction. Recovering Together Program Curriculum Guide: An Education Support Group for Children

This curriculum guides child welfare professionals and substance abuse treatment providers in helping children and adolescents process their experience of living with a substance-abusing parent, and express and manage their feelings in healthy ways. To effectively encourage each child to work toward breaking the cycle of addiction and abuse in the family, this program focuses on a new topic every week for 16 weeks.
