American Humane's Children's Services is dedicated to combating child maltreatment by supporting systems that protect children. American Humane works to assist the federal government and state and local public/private child and family services agencies to respond effectively to the various demands of child welfare work.
American Humane's extensive research efforts help child protection agencies and professionals achieve better outcomes for children. This includes examining the decision-making processes used by agencies, as well as the outcomes of their cases. Through decades of consultation with state and county public child protection systems, we have developed unmatched knowledge and expertise that helps child welfare professionals present compelling evidence to their decision makers -- and that results in their making the right choices for children and families.
American Humane has worked with a variety of governmental and nongovernmental entitites in more than 25 states since 1990 and has become nationally recognized for work in the areas of

- development of agency/organization evaluation systems,
- program evaluation,
- needs assessment,
- research with state data systems,
- development and delivery of training curricula,

- the teaching of professionals how to design and maintain their own evaluation system and the processes that are associated with such activities.
