Chronic Child Neglect
For the past decade, nearly two-thirds of the child maltreatment cases that the nation’s child protective services agencies have investigated or assessed have been reports of neglect, and children reported for neglect tend to be repeatedly reported for new concerns.

CNVS is a combined virtual community center and web conference designed to help advance practices and policies on chronic child neglect through stimulating online dialogue with peers, a network of support and learning, and strategic solution-building.
State and county child welfare agencies participate as teams composed of three to six key individuals, such as child welfare administrators, direct supervisors, line social workers, training coordinator sand/or community partners (e.g., public health nurses, judicial officials).
Each team participant receives password-protected access to the dedicated virtual community center, which includes discussion boards and resources. All participants have the opportunity to share professional or familial experiences and to build on successes. All participating teams can also invite key publics to the web conference (as space in your agency allows), which will cover chronic neglect research and field-based experiences.
