Managing Emotions as an FGDM Coordinator/Facilitator

Why this training?

A coordinator's ability to monitor his or her emotions and reactions greatly influences whether FGDM processes are truly family-driven. This one-day training emphasizes the importance of frequent self-monitoring and offers tools for working with service providers, family members and others who may be projecting their own issues and feelings onto the FGDM process and other participants.

You will learn how to:

  • Increase your awareness of your own emotions as they arise during the FGDM process
  • Develop a personal plan to address specific emotional challenges
  • Recognize opportunities to redirect potentially inflammatory, counterproductive or conflictual situations that may act as barriers to FGDM processe

We work with your agency to personalize trainings to your needs and environment.
