Why this training?
This hands-on, three-day, comprehensive training is for communities or agencies considering implementing FGDM. Learn the foundations of FGDM’s rich international history and its philosophies, values and core elements, and learn how to engage both a wide family network and formal systems in FGDM processes.
You will learn how to:
- Prepare and support parents, family members, social workers and others with a strengths-based approach
- Empower and involve family members and others during an FGDM conference
- Conduct all elements of the FGDM process, including preparation, the family conference and follow-up activities
- Include the voices of children and others who are unable to, or choose not to, attend a family meeting in person
- Mobilize and widen families’ circles of support
