The Second Chance Fund is set up to give animal victims of abuse, neglect or homelessness a second chance at life. Financial assistance is provided, in select cases, to animal welfare organizations and breed rescue groups responsible for the temporary care of animals as they are prepared for adoption into permanent, loving homes. Funding to any one agency is limited to $2,000 per fiscal year. Only member animal sheltering agencies (private or public) and member breed specific rescue groups are considered for the Second Chance Fund. Individuals, businesses, corporations, and non-member organizations are not provided for in the guidelines of the fund. Follow the link to download an application and see cases that have already been funded.
The economy impacts everything – even pets. American Humane offers Foreclosure Pets Grants on a limited basis to help shelters provide care to animal victims of the nation’s foreclosure crisis.
Grant monies are available based on resources and the generosity of our donors and are awarded to qualifying American Humane member shelters. Learn more about Foreclosure Pets Grants, and learn more about how to donate directly to the Foreclosure Pets Grants.
