Leadership Development

American Humane's Leadership Development Program gives animal welfare professionals training to take control of their careers, whether their goal is to get a promotion or manage a project or staff. Created in collaboration with the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA), this specially designed program enhances the skills of animal welfare professionals, providing them greater opportunities to advance in the animal welfare field and ultimately creating a better world for the nation's animals.

Leadership classes by nationally recognized experts are launching now, and will be held throughout the country. Phase I of the curriculum focuses on shelter operations, fundraising, euthanasia by injection and managing compassion fatigue.
