GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE, December 6, 2016 — American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization, is now on the ground in Tennessee providing urgent assistance to the animal victims and pet owners impacted by the devastating wildfires ravaging the state.

American Humane Rescue rushed two of its specialized emergency vehicles—made possible through the generous support of philanthropist Lois Pope and the Banfield Foundation—to Gatlinburg, Tenn., to help companion animals and pet owners displaced in the wake of the deadly wildlife.

American Humane Rescue is responding to an official request for support from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, and will provide on-site assistance to the American Red Cross emergency shelter at the Rocky Top Sports Complex in East Tennessee throughout the course of the rescue mission.
