Since the 1600s, educators and philosophers have touted a connection between teaching children kindness to animals and kindness to each other. With the No Child Left Behind Act, there is a national mandate to bring lessons of character into weekly classroom activities. Learn how to incorporate animals and empathy into lessons about responsible pet care and kindness, to not only captivate students but also deliver a clear message about the pillars of character. This presentation inspires teachers to engage in animal-related activities while meeting the need to teach character to students.
