What kind of difference can the PAWS Program make in a woman’s life? Nothing can express it better than the words of someone who has benefited firsthand:

To P.A.W.S.
I will be moving into my new apartment Friday. There are no words to explain the freedom I am feeling, the chance to express myself any way I want. I am now able to talk, write, sing, dance and rest when I'm tired. Do anything I want, to just live again. K.A.A.P. helped me to blossom like a spring flower. They gave me my life back. Before I came here the only joy I had in life was my precious little dog Star. She is a Silky Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a beautiful black and brown coat and only weighs four pounds. She just turned ten a few months ago. If K.A.A.P. wouldn't have let me keep her inside the shelter, I would either be on the streets or worse, I might have gone back to my abuser. Life there was a living hell. I won't go into details, but I will tell you the last thing he did to me as I was sitting on the curb waiting for the cab was spit on me, repeatedly, like I was a piece of garbage. Well I'm not! I haven't felt this wonderful in fifteen years. I will always love the dedicated ladies that were there for me.
Thank you
