University-level students get a real-world look into animal sheltering and animal welfare in this one-and-a-half-day workshop. Learn about the humane movement, humane education, and the issues that face shelters and the community regarding companion animals. Get information about homeless animals, cruelty, The Link® between violence toward people and violence toward animals, and dog bite statistics to engage with your community and create programs that advance positive change.
This interactive workshop gets students discussing and working on the details of possible solutions. In the final hours of the workshop, students design a program that includes a lesson plan and activity sheets for a target audience. This workshop is accompanied by a training packet and resources.
