Transforming Conflict Into Partnership in the FGDM Process

Why this training?

Sometimes when coordinators are organizing family meetings, they encounter familial conflict, such as disagreements between maternal and paternal sides of the family, which may hinder or derail the FGDM process. This two-day training will help coordinators transform conflict into partnership for the families they serve.

You will learn how to:

• Recognize conflict types and styles
• Plan for and manage potential conflict before, during and after the conference
• Plan for and manage an abusive dynamic in order to create a safe environment throughout the FGDM process
• Encourage families to build their own strategies for working through conflict and building partnerships
