DigiTise Media Partners with American Humane Association to Provide Animal Health and Safety Information; Adds Dr. Marie McCabe as the ‘Veterinary Voice’ of PetTales.TV

Lakewood (June 30, 2009)

DigiTise Media is a leading New Media Company delivering Private Television Networks and Audio Channels via broadband to commercial and professional spaces.  One of DigiTise’s premium channels is PetTales.TV, which is designed for animal lovers and pet owners.  Featuring original and licensed content that covers pet health, animal-related entertainment and community information, PetTales.TV entertains and informs pet owners while endorsing responsible pet ownership.  SmartTVs™ for the PetTales.TV channel are located in veterinary offices, animal shelters and pet supply retailers, and the TV content is accompanied by a companion website at www.PetTales.TV

The partnership with the American Humane Association provides an opportunity for the organization to promote its mission even more broadly to the general public.  PetTales.TV will feature American Humane programs such as humane education and ways to teach children the safe and appropriate way to interact with  animals; American Humane’s exclusive No Animals Were Harmed® program that protects animals in Hollywood movies, TV programs and commercials; and its Red Star Animal Emergency Services, which is the nation’s oldest rescue program for animals affected by disasters, including both natural ones such as hurricanes, floods, wildfires and tornadoes, and manmade disasters like puppy mills, hording cases and even toxic spills or environmental issues.  Red Star also provides important pet disaster-preparedness information for the public.

Marie Suthers McCabe, DVM, vice president of American Humane’s Human-Animal Bond Division, has also been named the official veterinarian of PetTales.TV.  She will be featured in regular video segments speaking about important pet health and welfare issues. McCabe earned her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from The Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  She has served in veterinary practice in New Jersey and Ohio; has been a professor in the field at Columbus State Community College in Ohio, the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg.  She also has held other significant related positions before coming to American Humane, including director of community education at Heifer International in Little Rock, Ark.

JJ Margiotta, director of business development for DigiTise, said, “We are thrilled to have Dr. McCabe on our team, and to have American Humane as a significant partner.  Dr. McCabe’s role at American Humane and her vast veterinary experience make her the ideal authority to be the health spokesperson on PetTales.TV.”

“For American Humane, the PetTales.TV channel is well suited to our long-term mission of promoting awareness of both animal-related and children’s issues,” said Marie Belew Wheatley, American Humane’s president and CEO.  “Our alliance with DigiTise Media and PetTales.TV has numerous mutual benefits, and we are delighted to be working so closely with them on this important public education effort.”
