America’s Fastest Growing Animal-Welfare Label Presents True Humane Tracking™ At the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa
Denver (May 29, 2009)
For the third year, the American Humane Association’s farm-animal welfare program, American Humane® Certified, will exhibit at the World Pork Expo June 3-5 in Des Moines, Iowa, in order to showcase the fastest-growing animal welfare program for humane-labeled food products to leading pork producers and processors.
All attendees at the expo are invited to visit American Humane’s booth (#CB 2800) to learn about True Humane Tracking™, the integrated, three-tiered audit process developed by American Humane Certified The proprietary system includes an on-site audit by certified auditors; frequent online monitoring of conformance to core areas; and 24/7 video monitoring. The system provides maximum transparency from producer to retailer and consumers, as well as accountability, consistency and reliability in third party, independent audits of farm animal welfare. American Humane Certified partners in the audit process are Validus and FACTA providing on-site audits, CDC Services for online systems and HS3 Technologies for video monitoring.
American Humane Certified is America’s first and original animal welfare program. Food producers with more than 60 million farm animals have been certified by American Humane’s science-based program. More and more producers are responding to consumer and retailer demand to provide independent, third-party verification of their practices.
American Humane Certified works closely with its independent Scientific Advisory Committee, industry professionals and producers to ensure that industry advancements and best practices are part of American Humane Certified’s science-based standards. American Humane Certified is a program of the American Humane Association, a 131-year-old, national nonprofit that works to protect both children and animals through programs, education, advocacy and public awareness.
The World Pork Expo takes place June 3-5 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. For more information on American Humane Certified please go to www.thehumanetouch.org
